Patch Family

Let us start with the big hitters! Oh wait… all of us here have some special traits or abilities that we should be proud of, so I don’t know where to begin! But I guess we may as well start with Kale. This is Kale’s third year at The Patch and has achieved managerial status almost instantaneously. If you ever met Kale, it’s fairly obvious why; he is an amazing person all around and has an incredibly open personality.

  Now meet Amie. She is also a manager alongside Kale. They both work extremely hard to keep the store fully stocked and fashionable. Together they are a creative, dynamic, and unstoppable duo. Now, you’re probably thinking something like Batman and Robin… but let’s just say B+R don’t have ANYTHING on them!

Now it’s you’re turn to figure out this employee’s name. Here is a hint: ______ and the Pussycats! Haven’t got it yet? Well she is the lead singer of that band! No she isn’t; I was just playing with you. Josie isn’t often in the store, but she does work in Owen Sound, where she holds a lot of the store together! She is very behind the scenes, kind of like Alfred… Okay, I know you were thinking it since Batman and Robin were previously mentioned! If you ever have the pleasure of running into her at the store, cherish it because you may never know when it will happen again.

This is Kayla. Cool Beans! Enough said… actually there is too much to say about Kayla. She has a very interesting personality, who doesn’t sleep, and happens love Star Wars. How CRAZY is that! Kayla (along with Josie) is in charge of the Butterfly this year and has done amazing job with the layout. There is tons of new jewelry at The Patch this year and the shipments are nowhere close to stopping. Back to Kayla though; she is a pro paddle boarder (having the balance of a cat) and more importantly, is an incredible photographer, as she takes all the photos for the site. You are probably thinking right now, however does she manage to take the photos of herself… well she does it… nobody knows… but she does it! No more questions!

Oh Jenna or should I say Doctor Skinner. One day we will all see that salutation before her name, although her last name may be slightly different by then :O !! Jenna is heading into her last year of Biology at Queen’s University; very exciting. Something you may not know about Jenna though is that she is quite particular about becoming a regular at certain stores. Becoming a regular has its advantages though; like vanilla lattes with fantastic latte art upon the top, possibly even a Taj Mahal recreation… you just never know what you will end up with! Very sneaky!

Kate over here is our events coordinator this summer, which means she is the mastermind behind our theme days and lots of other fun events at The Patch! When you’re with this Sauble local, you know you’re bound to have a great time. Aside from the personable and outgoing qualities she possesses, Kate’s known by the fellow Patchies for how insanely talented she is at hockey. She currently plays on the varsity team at University of Waterloo, meaning that the Mighty Ducks don’t have anything on her, and alongside that is taking Legal Studies. Brains AND Brawn… what can I say, our staff is pretty stacked!

The name’s Bond, James Bond… No seriously, that’s his real name. I KNOW, LUCKY! In addition to having a wicked name, Jamie also has a license to kill… how coincidental is that! Just joking everybody; the only license that Jamie has is one that allows him to have the craziest personality ever. That’s not actually true, because he ALSO has a boating license, which allows him to visit his private island (and this island isn’t like Alcatraz, it’s more like Shutter Island; joking again everyone, it’s more like paradise). Yeahhh, no big deal or anything. That’s why all of us love having him at the store, instead of him being in London attending University of Western Ontario. It’s for his loveable smile, charming personality, and… Ohhhh who am I kidding… It’s for the island!

It’s time to drop the mix tape… because this is DJ Don Shal. DJ is only one of Sheldon’s many jobs that he does. When he isn’t working one of his four or more jobs, you can find Sheldon at The Patch. This funny and entertaining guy is the man behind the magic of this beautifully renovated website! Sheldon has put a ton of effort into making this website for us, and we all love him for it! But this tech-savvy boy’s abilities don’t stop there. He’s majoring in Film and Communication Studies at Wilfrid Laurier University, and has done fabulously in many film competitions. Get on his good side everyone, we could be looking at the next Spielberg… or Lucas… or Lee… or Renoir… possibly even Eisenstein… maybe Murnau…. Hitchcock… okay maybe I went too far there; I’m just saying, next big deal!

Ohhh see… CC Rider… Ohhh see, what you have done… Yes Elvis did sing this song for Christine, our very own bodacious babe! In all seriousness though, I would recommend not calling her this. Christine would prefer probably any other nickname other than this; don’t say I didn’t warn you! Christine is our sole writer for the Patch News section of the website. She is heading into Journalism at the University of King’s College. It’s the reason why we asked her to write for the site; she has some mad writing skills. She will be the person who keeps you updated on all of the spectacular events happening at The Patch this summer and hopefully for many more after that.

 Besides having a ring addiction and giving The Patch fantastic business, Jess is an essential part of The Patch fam. With the goal of having a future career in the field of Optometry, it’s no surprise that Jess has an eye for what’s stylish! Her great taste is only the beginning. Come in and see this loveable and funny personality for yourself, and you’ll understand why we love her!

 Time to meet Barb, the sweetest of the sweet! This caring lady is a joy to have around The Patch, and her personality promises to make both customers and fellow Patchies more than comfortable! With a personality like hers, it’s no surprise that her future profession lies in nursing. Currently a student at Trent University, Barb only has a few more years until she can put her knowledge and lovingness into action in the nursing field. If she can’t brighten your day, no one can!

Along with being a super amazing musician and one of the few people who can cover a Bob Marley song and completely do it justice, Ben is a pretty amazing worker as well. One of the newest additions to The Patch, Ben’s fitting in very nicely, and the Patchies love having him around. With such an awesome and laid-back personality, we’re sure you’ll love him just as much as we do!

 And we’ve come to yet another new addition. Talk to Neil (on the right of the photo) for five minutes and you’ll feel like you’ve known him for years! This great guy is a talented worker, and possibly an even more talented musician. An expert at the saxophone, Neil’s entering into a Bachelor of Music program at the University of Toronto. Very, very few people are accepted every year, but no big deal, really. Hear this awesome worker play and you’ll be blown away!

 Now we have come to by far the tallest employee at The Patch, and probably the most inquisitive. We promise you will never have a boring conversation with this guy, as he’s bound to ask you some really interesting and thought-provoking questions. He’s pretty interesting himself, as being a super talented musician and songwriter are not qualities that people often come across. Pass Liam a guitar and you won’t be disappointed! His sense of humor and great personality guarantee never a dull moment.

 Our boy Josh isn’t around too often, but we forgive him for it. This formerly full-time and currently part-time employee has his hands pretty full with a job on the Wellesley Township Fire Department. When he’s not being a hero by putting out fires, saving lives and all that jazz, Josh can’t wait to get to the beach. We love having him around, even if his presence is pretty seldom! He always generates some good laughs and great times.

Steph

This bubbly personality can always make you smile! A freshly graduated fashion student from Seneca College, this lady has some big plans for her future, and she is one of the reasons that you love the clothes that The Patch carries! With her keen fashion sense, it only makes sense that she’d be a buyer for the store. Keep an eye out for Steph and her amazing smile next time you’re around the store!

Beth

Meet another one of the brains behind the operation. While Beth isn’t too often around the store, she does spend a lot of time ordering. Many of the gorgeous accessories and jewelry you see are all thanks to her! Which I guess means you can also blame her for your wallet feeling a little bit lighter every time you walk out of the store. Whether it’s during working hours or not, we love having Beth around, as she always promises to be a bundle of fun!
